Mayweather vs. Hatton

-photo officially jacked from msnbc.com

*I know, I know it's not a clip of the fight, but youtube took down alot of the uploads from the actual fight :(

I’m really not into the sport of boxing, BUT I must watch every Floyd Mayweather, or shall I say “Money May” fight!! I didn’t think that any match could top the Mayweather/De La Hoya fight back in May, but the Mayweather/Hatton match was some serious ish!!

So back in April/May, HBO had the series, 24/7: De La Hoya vs. Mayweather, which is a reality show that followed the boxers around (from training, to talking ish, to just living life). This time around, HBO decided to give the fans 24/7: Mayweather vs. Hatton. The series makes you appreciate and respect the rigorous sport of boxing. Like the last time around, the series is what got me hyped up for the main event!! This show is one of the best ideas ever. I am extremely surprised that HBO did not package the 24/7: De La Hoya vs. Mayweather and fight into a DVD. I would buy a copy just to see Floyd Mayweather work out! Have you peeped that sexy body body? Did you see the way he does those crunches, and then stands up at the end? Things that make me shake my head and say umph….

Last night, some friends and I went to a local sports bar to see the main event, Mayweather vs. Hatton. Don’t know why, but I was somewhat nervous for Mayweather. He talks so much ish, I would just hate to see his little-sexy-milk chocolate-self lose. He had me on the edge of my seat in the first couple of rounds when he was stumbling a bit. And don’t let me mention when Hatton dang near threw Money May through the ropes. A girl almost has a heart attack!! One of my friends called me during about the 4th or 5th round to see if it was too late for them to come to the bar. I told them not to come out because it looked like Mayweather was not going to make it much longer. It just seemed like it was a really really close fight and it was hard to tell if he had the edge. Man, was I ever wrong about Mayweather not going to make it!! Proceed to round 10!! Mayweather knocks Hatton down. Dude gets up when the ref counts to 8. Don’t know what he did that for, because Mayweather knocked him right back down. This is probably one of the best fights ever!! It was worth every cent of the fans’ money because it wasn’t a quick fight and the score was almost equal (Mayweather was up by 2 points) before the knockout. If you didn’t get a chance to see it, you must peep it for yourself when HBO gives us the repeats especially since the clips from yesterday have been getting taken off of youtube!!

I normally don't...

I normally don't do personal blogs, but I had to post this one!

I have alot of stressful (some good some bad) stuff going on. I got a new job (yay!), I got close peeps in my life completely flipping out on me for selfish reasons and completely forgetting and not appreciating all I've done to help them, people in "my extended network" messaging me under false pretenses, and a whole bunch of other ish.

So with all this said, my mind can sometimes be elsewhere, like today when I went to Target. So my homegirl and I walk back to my car and I see my keys in my door!! I locked the door, and forgot to take the freakin keys out! Hello car jackers out there, please take mine, plleeeaaassee!!! So I'm tripping out in disbelief. Then, the woman parked right next to me (who I hadn't realized was there until she spoke because I was in such shock) said she stayed in her car to watch mine! This made me feel so good, to know that good and honest people do exist in this world. Sometimes we wonder why bad things happen to good people, but today I can say that good things absolutely happen to good people. Karma does come back around. I thanked God for that woman and prayed for a blessing for her. I can only imagine who did the same for me. :) Right now, I am truly overjoyed.

The Wire

-photo offcially jacked from www.hbo.com/thewire

Ya girl has some great news for all of you Wireheads out there! The season 4 DVD will be released just in time for Christmas on December 4th! And ya'll know what that means. As a owner of the first three DVDs, I've noticed a trend. When they release the box set from the previous season, it normally means that the following season debut is right around the corna! And the trend hasn't changed. Season 5 premieres on HBO on January 6th!!!

Holla at cha girl!

Oprah & her Favorite Senator

It's cool Oprah is endorsing Obama and all but I have a question for her. Oprah, did you know that you could join the race and leave every last one of those mofos in the dust?

Throwback ish! 702 & Subway

Sorry it's been a minute since I "threw it back" here at thisishwritehere but better late than neva is what they tell me. The latest Throwback comes to you from 702 featuring Subway with "This Lil' Game We Play".

-See, I bet some of ya'll didn't even know that 702 started off with 4, not 3 members.
-Poor girl never lead a song after this.
-702 had success after this, but what happened to Subway? They were talented as well. I remember a few years ago on Usher's MTV Diary, one of the guys was his BFF/Assistant. Moving on.
-Michael Bivins discovered these folks, you know the guy from Making The Band 4 who also discovered Boyz II Men, who was also in New Edition. This guy doesn't get the props he deserves.
-Have you peeped the lyrics?Looking back it looks crazy to see how young they were, but I was young too singing right along. lol
-Do girl groups ever stay together?
-And I'm outro singing, "this little game that we play/just a little game that we plaaayyayyy" lol

Jay-Z House Of Blues Concert

So ya girl went to the Jay-Z concert last night at the House of Blues on the infamous Sunset Strip in Hollywood, CA. For starters, let me announce that I will never ever again go to that tiny venue to see a major artist such as Jay-Z. I think that it was over sold because I've been to sold out shows at the House of Blues and it has never been that crowded. I was waiting for a stampede at any minute. The place was packed!

My friend and I get inside and ironically end up standing by a couple who were in line a week before with me at ticketmaster. They were unable to get tickets then and instead got them online for twice the price! And on the other side of me was a customer from my job that I'd assisted not too long before. lol Doors opened at 8 and the show was scheduled to start at 9 but the Jiggaman did not come out til about 10:30. So in the meantime, people were getting their Jesus Juice on in a major way. This caused many of them to think they could squeeze their way in front of me. hahhahaha, I'm still laughing at those attempts. They had great music playing (I guess that was his opening act) but the drunken folks were becoming an annoyance and I was glad when the show finally opened.

So the curtain finally arises and my my my what do we have, a live band!! I was hoping he would because his Unplugged CD is one of my favorites and on The Jay-Z and Friends tour he used a live band that just made his performance that much more live! Once Jay-Z came out, I forgot all about the annoying people that were getting on my nerves a few seconds previously.

He opened with "Pray" from his new CD "American Gangster" that was released yesterday. He had a few special guests, but I was shocked that Memp Bleek didn't hype the whole show with him like normal. Jay-Z did the show for dolo. He did the best of the best off the new CD such as "No Hook", "Roc Boys" (he closed with this right after "Encore"), "Blue Magic" ( I thought Pharrell's sexy self would be there for his part umph), "Ignorant Sh*t", "Say Hello", and few oldies but goodies. I was glad that he did some of his unreleased fan favorites such as "Hovi Baby" (sounds great when you, "give the drummer some"), "You Don't Know", "Excuse Me" remix aka jay-z always smoking that la la la. Some of his released popular hits performed were "Encore" (he brought out Diddy and Jermaine Dupri for this, why? I don't know), "Show Me What You Got" (also good when you, "give the drummer some"), "Give It To Me", "Dirt Off Your Shuolders", "Big Pimpin" and others. He brought out The Roc Boys, Memph Bleek, Beenie, and Freeway for "What We Do", "Roc The Mic", and "Change The Game". All in all it was a terrific concert!!! Everybody left looking like they just left the gym with sweaty faces and shirts. We even spotted a few celebs getting their parlay on. Jay-Z sounds exactly the same, not all outta breath like a lot of rappers. Hopefully next time he'll come to The Staples Center!!

JAY-Z CONCERT!!!!!

So I woke up yesterday on my day off at 6:15 AM so that I could arrive early at Ticketmaster in the Ladera Center to purchase Jay-Z tickets that were to go on sale at 10AM! I was the first one there. There ended up being about 10 people in line to purchase tickets. I'm the only one who left with tickets. It sold out in literally 1 minute! A dude offered $600 for one ticket, but I wonder if I could've made it to my car without getting hit upside the head. I'm on cloud nine write now. I feel so blessed and excited!!!!! It's tha Roc!!!

BET Hip Hop Awards as promised!

You know the routine, here are my thoughts about the ish!

-Firstly, everyone knows that T.I. was MIA due to his recent arrest. It’s really disturbing to me that when you go to a search engine (I’ll keep it nameless) and you type in “BET Hip Hop Awards”, most of the links are about his arrest and not about the show. Traaaggedddyyy

All photos were offically jacked from the BET website.

-my favorite "duffle bag boy"

-The Kanye West Performance was dope, wit the red Michael Jackson pants and all!

-I’m glad BET decided to go with Katt Williams again as host. He’s not afraid to clown on folks who need to be clowned on even if they are in the audience. I was dying when he was talking about how T-Pain and the synthesizer should never depart. LOL And then right after when he introduced LL Cool J as “Lick His Lips Cool J” LOL He better hope Michael Vick doesn’t come after him tomorrow, he got him a few good times.

-When Nelly performed, for the first 10 seconds didn’t you think the girl on stage was Ashanti?? Not too sure how I feel about the future video vixen opps I mean little girl gyrating doing the splits. *shakes head* She shoulda just stuck to “walkin it out”.

-Common gets sexier and sexier by the minute. Umph!

-Glad to see KRS-One get the props he deserves.

-Is that Hurricane Chris’ son doing “The Rick James” with him? He had a cool hype man.

-It was good to see the rappers all support their peers and not throw hate. They all seemed to enjoy one another’s performances.

-I love me some Cornel West!

-Boosie had a nice newscaster flat top. Nothing wrong w/a throwback haircut.

-And yes, I’ll admit, at the end like all of you, I was in my living room cranking that soulja boy! “Nope, you can’t do it like, nope!”

BET Hip Hop Awards

I'm currently watching the awards and writing as it airs so I can write about it tonight! Be back in a few:)

More Why Did I Get Married

-photo offcially jacked from amazon.com

If you thought the movie was good, the soundtrack is also a heater! My favorites include "Why Did I Get Married" by Tamika Scott (of Xscape fame, yah), "Betterman" by Musiq, "You Belong To Me" (this is the song they play at the ending credits) by Ms. Anita Baker, "Why" by Kelly Price, "No One Else" by Amel Larrieux or the whole tracklisting for that matter! lol

*****SPOILER ALERT*********

Here are my general thoughts from the movie, in no particular order, just my random thoughts.

-Jill Scott put it DOOWWWNN!
-Madea was just waiting to ease on out of Tyler's character but he did good. I couldn't stop thinking of Madea when all the guys were together outside when they first got there and he said, "I'm sooo serious". lol
-I hope this movie blows up Richard T. Jones (check him out in "The Wood" a sleeper classic!)
-When they all left the resort, they had Janet Jackson looking like she was about to go on tour (when she was the only one with the movie star glasses and bangin platform boots)
-Michael Jai White is sexy!!! The Sheriff was sexy! Malik "dectective" Yoba still looks good!
-When Jill Scott was visually sexually harassing the Sheriff, for some reason I could see Monique playing her character. lol
-Even though she was big, they did'nt have to dress Jill up like she was in her 50s. Or was she supposed to look alot older than her husband and friends?
-I know it was filmed on location, but don't you want to go to Colorado?
-Isn't the dinner table scene the illest! That's when it turned into a real movie. I can't believe how naive Jill Scott was.
-Tyler Perry's wife was a stupid broad, glad she came to her senses.
-Sometimes Janet was getting on my nerves playing "Dr." the whole trip. Do doctors really act like that w/their friends?
-What ya'll know about that 80/20 rule!!!??
-There is potential for a part deuce. Let me know what ya'll think.

Why Did I Get Married

-photo offically jacked from imdb.com
http://www.whydidigetmarriedthemovie.com/

I must admit my confession. When the previews for this movie came out, I thougt it was going to be a corny and cheesy movie. The previews just looked real wack to me. However, I am sooo glad that this did not stop me from going to see it last night on its debut. This blog is just to recommend that you all go support the good work. I'll write more of a review after opening weekend so that I won't spoil it for you who have yet to go. I think I'm gonna go see it again tonight :) I will add this ish though, I am glad, so so glad that Michael Jai White was in the cast umph umph umph, Lawdy Lawd!

VH1 Hip Hop Honors!!!

Every year VH1 Hip Hop Honors seems to be that ish!!! But I’m wondering, does anyone remember when VH1 wasn’t the ish? It became hot overnight! Here's the link to VH1 to see the performaces, http://www.vh1.com/home/splash/hhh_2007/index.jhtml
I did the best I could w/ youtube footage. Viacom took alot of ish down. :(

Honoree Missy Elliott

There was a lot of hoopla about her being honored and all, but I’m one to argue that she has paid her dues. She has been around for a minute. I wish they had elaborated on this a bit more. They did not mention when she was a part of the group, Sista, or that she first started out under Jodeci’s Devante Swing. I also wish they would have elaborated a bit more on her production/writing resume! They didn’t mention ½ the ish she produced for other peeps. Sure, she’s not the best lyricist, but production/writing wise, she hasn’t been touched by any other females in the game. Here’s the ish that stood out to me.

-I had forgot all about Tweet! Where has she been? For those of you who do not own a copy of her first CD, Southern Hummingbird, ya need to step ya CD game up! Her and Timbo did a good job singing, “I Can’t Stand The Rain” even though she’s not a rapper. She did the chorus bomb too!

-Did you peep Snoop w/ the fam and the pimp cup vibing when they were honoring Missy?! Lol

-Why didn’t Missy perform??????

-Keyshia Cole and E.V.E. did a great job doing “Hot Boyz”. Kesh did a good job, but it made me want to hear the original voice on the track, the highly underrated, Lil Mo.

-And does Ciara ever fail to entertain?

Honoree New Jack Swing

Teddy Riley is one most overlooked producers/musicians ever! I put him in the same boat as Roger Troutman and DJ Quik, they never given the credit they deserve! Same thing w/ Andre Harrell! Of course he’s not on the scale of Russell Simmons, but he was one of the first young hip hop entrepreneurs. Diddy was his intern! He developed the careers of Jodeci, Heavy D., Mary J. Blige, etc. Wow Here’s the ish that stood out to me.

-Andre Harrell’s glasses

-Doug E. Fresh is the ish! When they started singing Lodi Dodi, I was kinda salty because I love Snoop’s cover of it from his first album and was hoping he would perform it.

-T-Pain, vocals were not all there bruh. But in his defense, I guess it is a bit difficult for anyone to sound like Keith Sweat.

-Andre Harrell's glasses.

-“Remember The Time” is one of Michael Jackson’s best songs and videos.

-I don’t recall it being a duet though.

-I think for a second, towards the end, Neyo believed he was Michael Jackson.

-It would’ve been tight if they had the dancers dress up in the Egyptian get up like in the video.

-For a second I thought I was there when Teddy and Chauncey Black (the 2 members of Blackstreet who never left) did “No Diggity”.

-The audience was wack, how can you not enjoy throwbacks like “No Diggity” and “Rumpshaker”???!!!

Honoree Snoop Dogg

I’m from the West, and I am a Snoop fan! Peeps wanna hate but the man is legendary. He does not ever have to release another CD again and he would still be able to tour for life! Even if you don’t listen to rap, if you’re 82, if you live under a rock, you know who Snoop is! Ish that stood out.

-Pharrell looked good!

-He seemed like he really made an effort to sound like Snoop huh?

-TI and BG did “Deep Cover” (On the original track,I love the way Snoop recites the line, “We’ll give you 20 G’s if you snitch on ya homie”!!) but I think BG didn’t know the words.

-I know he’s grown, but it’s weird to hear Bow Wow cuss.

-Did ya’ll peep Ice-T doing the c-walk? Where was WC??

Honoree A Tribe Called Quest

So ya girl decided to finish watching the show in the bed and accidentally dosed off!!!! I’m gonna try to catch the repeat to hit ya’ll up later! Sorry

20 Questions (+, -)

-I'm excited about VH1's Hip Hop Honors and all, but I'm kinda like who will they honor next year? Soulja Boy? Ish comes out way to frequently, they'll run outta legends in abooouutttt 3 year I predict.

-Did anyone peep the Superhead interview (http://www.zshare.net/audio/3218172b98aa2f) she did w/ Jaime Foxx on Sirius Radio?? I was rolling when he said "she been ran through more than a high school hallway".

-This ain't a question but I'm willing to give somebody a dub if they can tell me what CD Kim Burrell's "Have Faith In Me" (the studio version) is on. Hit me up at myspace.com/msgmack

-Aren't we all kinda upset that Marion Jones really didn't put it down at the 2000 Sydney Olympics after recently admitting to taking "The Clear"??

-I wonder what sports figure will admit to using "The Clear" next?? hmmmm, any guesses?

-Speaking of steroids, why do all the major producers look super beefed up? There's Polow Da Don, Dr. Dre, Timbaland....

-Have you told a friend about this site??

-After appearing in Chris Brown's "Wall To Wall" video and Nicole S's vid for "I Can Do What You Like" can someone tell Sean Garrett to sit down? I think you belong behind a desk with paper and pen Sean Sean.

-Aren't we feeling Keyshia's Cole new sophisticated look?

-Aren't was all happy for Cassidy after enduring all he has in such a short time and finally seeing better days?

-Isn't Talib Kweli's "Hot Thang" featuring Will.I.Am off the chain!!!???

-Nic Cannon and his Victoria Secret Model fiance Selita Ebacks have called it off. Wonder what all the punchlines about him on Wild N' Out will be about?

Be back soon with mo' ish!

The Vixen Diaries

-photo officially jacked from amazon.com

Ok, so here's the deal. I've been reading this book pictured up top since it was released this Tuesday and I was not going to make a post about it because I didn't feel it was as good as the last one. That is, until I completed the last page yesterday afternoon!!

This new book by Karrine Steffans is basically about her life after she released "Confessions Of A Video Vixen". A woman who is madly in love with Bill Mahr, appeared on Oprah, and seems to be BAALLLIINNN. In this book she does not at all name drop like she did in her first book. In her last book, I'd say about 3% of the men had anonymous names and she aired out the other 97% without a problem. This book is the opposite which made it less Juicy. Not only didn't she name names like last time (which is why the book blew up) but her blind item descriptions are so general that you can't guess who the hell she is talking about.

Moving right along. So I continued reading the piece in my blah-blah-blah-I-was-expecting-so-much-more mood until I got to the last sentence of the book!!! For those of you who read the last book, you know about the character she referred to as "Papa". She described him as a married rapper w/kids who'd been on the scene for a minute and was always in her corner no matter what. Everyone, including myself thought that it was fa sho LL Cool J. Ladies and Gents, this is not the case! During her inteviews after the last book, she said that she would reveal his identity in her next book. She left us hanging until the last sentence of this book! It made up for my lack of interest with the rest of the book. I don't want to spoil it for peeps who have not read it so if you want to know who it is just hit me on the gmail.

O.J. Simpson please sit down

-photo officially jacked from the AP.

O.J., can you please sit your arthritic legs down?!! You beat a murder trial! Guilty or not guilty, I don't think that many defendants are that successful when facing murder. Stop writing books about killing folks, breaking into Las Vegas hotels. Now you're about to get into more trouble than the guy that orginally took your ish. Suck it up as a lost, homie. ugh

The Goldman family, Denise Brown, Christopher Darden, and Marcia Clark were all on Oprah last week. I would pay money to see O.J. Simpson on that Oprah set. I think he would make O cuss.

Throwback! "Who Can I Run To" by Xscape

Xscape needs to reunite not now, but right now!!! This was the best girl group ever. Better than SWV, Destiny's Child, Pussycatdolls, and all other groups where only one member sings and the others sing background and dance. EVERY member of Xscape could SANG! They each had the potential to go solo!

Just for kicks, another video shall be added! muahahaha

As with alot of bomb throwbacks, the embedding has been disabled so I can only provide you all with the link http://youtube.com/watch?v=rxvyFGOfnEg

This video is "Tonight", where each member just ripps it. Not one of their most popular songs, but most def one of the best. It's from their first CD, "Humming Coming At Cha". These chicks were hella young just sanging like it was oh so easy. Should be a sin. Back in 96, I saw them at my first concert at The R. Kelly Down Low/Top Secret Tour featuring Xscape and LL Cool J! One of the bombest shows ever! Xscape was not a gimmick. They did no lip synching, no relying on dancing to make up for their lack of singing, just simple vo-Kals, and I wish they were applauded more. It's unfortunate how some great groups like this one gets slept on. Real music fans know the deal though.

Remember this one? Probably their most popular. Enjoy this ish! :)

20 Questions (+,-)

And we miss ya back! Here we go!

*With all the hoopla surrounding the 9/11 release date of Fiddy and The Louis Vuitton Don's CDs, wouldn't be funny if Kenny Chesney came in #1? Ya'll know country fans support to the death!

*Is Chris Brown not on his ish or what? Grind-IN!

*Isn't it amazing that allll of Akon's songs about sex and big bootys manage to blow up while his feature on India Arie's "I Am Not My Hair" made hardly any noise? "trraaaggeedyyyy"

*Why is it that every black male newscaster dons the 1986 flat top haircut?

*Remember when Sprite Commercials were off the chain? They had the one w/ Kobe rapping vs. Tim Duncan, the one w/ the three b-ball actors talking 'bout "excuse me, what's my motivation??" lol Here's one that I found.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=HWdDD65iIKg (embedding was disabled! boooo!)

When Jay-z retired, didn't he say he would still tour? L.A. is tryna holla @ cha Jiggaman!

What exactly is the souljaboy dance? Just seems like everyone does it a bit different.

And speaking of the dance, do you shake your head when that fool says "supa soak that hooooooeeee"? I'm like the song was PG before that, lol.

Why do peeps ignore private calls? What if it's your child's school with an emergency? Or someone's phone died and they had to use someone else's?

Don't you think The Game should release a video for "Old English" off his latest CD? It's not too late.

Dang, hasn't there been a drought on good movie releases?

Gnarles Barkley, can we get up on CD #2?

Is Rihanna becoming the black Avril?

Throwback! "Like This N Like That" by Monica feat. Malik

So the last time I posted a throwback jam, it was Brandy's "Brokenhearted" featuring Wanye of Boyz II Men. So this time around it's going to be her peer, Monica. Up until about 5 years ago, these girls had been competing neck and neck since like '95.

"Like The N Like That" is from Monica's first album, very appropriately titled, Miss Thang. It's kind of hard to believe that Monica was only 15 or 16 in this video! Girl was tooooo grown! If someone told me that she made this video this year, I could believe it. It's almost as if she caught up to her age. I think the haircut made her look older but you can tell by the subject matter on her first CD that she was mature. Even if you really peep the lyrics to "Like This N Like That" she was spitting some real ish! Adult ish! lol And we can't forget about "Don't Take It Personal", "Why I Love You So Much", and "Before You Walk Out My Life". Thinking about these songs gives me goosebumps! For all the females, do you all remember that Monica ALWAYS had fooooine leading dudes in all her videos?! Especially the one in "Before You Walk Out My Life". um um um These songs are just great, timeless pieces and did I mention the girl was only like 15?! I feel like Mase, "she was not 15!" (for those of you who have Mase's first CD you know what I am referring to lol) I miss the days when record labels had the funds to allow artists to release more than one or two videos from their CDs. Nowadays you gotta get gangsta like Kanye and make ya own videos. Holla back if you know what happened to Flava Flav opps I mean Malik (the guy rapping). They came out with this song and we never seen him since. Hope you all enjoy!!!

Making The Band 4 comes "To The End Of The Road"

Diddy has made the band!! A good one finally, no disrespect to Da Band or Danity Kane but this band is that ish! The final group is Big Mike, Willie, Qwanell, Robert, and Brian A. Annnnndddd Donnie got a solo deal. Diddy finally focused more on singing than dancing, hence why Danity Kane are a vocal mess. My thoughts about the show.

*The talent on this show was so thick that I knew he would either make 2 groups or give someone or some people solo deals. Donnie is an average singer and barely average dancer. I'm not hating, but I think that he would fair better in a group and would be more likely to be successful in a group. I think he will experience initial success alone, but not the longeveity that he would in that bomb band made last night. I think some of the other guys with better vocal skills should have gotten a solo deal. Deangelo perhaps. Jeremy perhaps. Brian H. perhaps. DYSHON perhaps. Every damn body in the final 10 perhaps! But oh well, good luck Don Don!

*I looooovved how they remixed the song from the show! They slowed it up and they allll sounded sooo good. The slow version allowed us to hear the rifts and vo-Kals that had. And who knew that Donnie could play the piano? Go head now! Deangelo should have made the band just from his performance alone.

*Did anyone peep how none of the voting results were revealed?? interesting. I guess Diddy really is "psycho fa real".

*Diddy got Tom Cruise on us at the end. lol

*Thought it was kinda cold blooded how Dyshon got kicked off in the middle of the show. *shakes head*

*Can't wait for the next season when they show them making their album and selecting their name! HOLLA!

Kanye vs. Fiddy, "who ya wit??"

-photo officially jacked from ybf

So as you all probably know by now, 50 and Kanye West are both releasing their CDs on the same date, September 11. Only rappers, such as 50 Cent would beef about who is coming out on "their" day. If you think about it, that ish sounds crazy. I want some feedback from you all out there. What album are you gonna buy that day? Curtis? Louis Vuitton Don? Both? Something that came out months ago? what? All I gotta say is "HA HA, you can't tell me nuuthing. LLLaaaaaa llaaa....."

5 cents about rush hour 3

Rush Hour 3 was an alright movie. It had it's laughs here and there but it didn't quite compare to the first two. It's been a minute since seeing the first two, but I do remember constantly laughing. In this one, the funny didn't seem natural. Call me a hater but who cares.

*Did Chris Tucker grow since part 2? I've never seen him that tall and beefed up.

*Jackie Chan is getting kinda old but his stunts are still on point.

*I thought it would've been cool if they would've reminded us who Su Young was with a little bit of Mariah Carey's "Fantasy". (remember in part one she was the little girl in the car with Jackie Chan singing that song so annoyingly?) funny ish

*The Nas and Cee-lo song played at the very end was hot!

*I'm glad I was in Paris before they shot this movie. Could you imagine going overseas and not being able to go on the Eifel Tower?

*They said the Ambassador survived right? And we didn't see him after the shooting right? Just checking, thought I was trippin'.

*"War" huh! lol I love when they sing that ish!

*I hope Brett Ratner wraps it up after 3.

Ok, so after the posting before last, I brought up D'Angelo. Afterwards, I just haaad to peep his video for his first single, "Brown Sugar". While on youtube, I found this dope live version. This is everything a live R & B performance should be. Great energy. Great backup singers (That's Angie Stone a.k.a. D'Angelo's Babymama on the far left ripping it up.Great lead singer. Great instrumentals. Just greatness, love the vibe of the setting and the performance. D'Angelo is one talented dude! We miss ya, come back soon! You are the ish!

Throwback-"Brokenhearted" by Brandy and Wanya

Awww, "Brokenhearted". What an awesome duet by the highly underrated Brandy and adlib guru, Wanya, of Boyz II Men! This song is a perfect recipe for tears on your pillow after a breakup or disagreement with that significant mofo opps I mean other. I guess this version would actually be considered "the remix" because on Brandy's self titled debut, the original version was a solo, had different music and slightly different vocal arrangements. That version is just as hot! Brandy is that type of artist who never fails to release quality CD after CD. All 4 of her discs are the ish. And Wanya, Wanya, Wan-ya! The dude is soulful! Making The Band 4 cuts were practically decided by him. He wasn't a judge on the show but alot of people got kicked off trying to sing his parts in "End Of The Road". I'd pay to see him anytime. Not now, but right now. Hope you all enjoy this throwback ish! :)

coffee shop/crack shop, it's all the same?

Normally on this site we talk about things we like, hardly ever ish that we don't like. Well today folks, we got some ish that ain't good.

Now when Young Joc did "It's Goin Dooowwwn" it was the ish with the motorcycle bike dance and all. This new Young Joc looks um, different. Looks like he may be tryna bite, chew, swallow, and digest Kanye's style just a tad bit. From the haircut to the wardrobe. Below are a few annoyances we have with the vid, and just because you don't like something does not make you a hater. Are we supposed to like everything? I mean, seriously.

*Firstly, this video was made by another fellow from the A named T.I. but he called his single "Rubberband Man". Same concept. *shakes head* Don't believe? Take a look at this ish down here.

*So from Lil Wayne to Jay-Z to the "Snoman" himself,Young Jeezy (who's albums are damn near crack selling instructionals) many rappers use clever, witty, and unique rhymes about selling drugs. These rhymes usaually serve as metaphors for their rap styles or their past, or present for that matter. This is all to good, but it's not all to the good when artists deny what they are truly talking about.

* Classic examples include D'Angelo denying "Brown Sugar" was about smoking weed (hahaha review the lyrics peeps. Clever and classic, we miss ya D'Angelo! Come back!), Young Jeezy denying that the Snowman logo on his shirts (that every young male in anyhood, usa had) was a symbol for a dope dealer, and Young Joc denying this song and subsequent video are about moving that weight. Sure Young Joc, and that's why at the end you tell kids not to do drugs? I really don't care, but if coffee shop is about selling weight, speak on it, don't deny it. To be the ish, one must keep it real!

We still love ya Young Joc, "It's Goin Dooown"!

I Think I Love My Wife

-photo used for this blog was officially jacked from amazon.com

I Think I Love My Wife is finally in stores now and ready for everyone reading this to purchase! We all know that Chris Rock is a hilarious individual, his standup comedy is always off the chain, and when he hosts award shows you know it's going down! However, on the flip side, his movies like Down To Earth and Head Of State have not quite lived up to the other funny ish we're accustomed to hearing from Chris Rock! Where his stand up comedy leaves off, I Think I Love My Wife picks up. When watching this film, it's as if you're watching the different jokes he tells on his HBO specials being acted out by actors. Chris Rock put it dooown in this movie! I hope you all appreciate it! It has a few good messages, if you can hear them over your laughs! Enjoy :)

New Jill Scott Ish!

-flick officially jacked from blackvoices website

http://myspace.com/whoisjillscott

Jill Scott is officially back! The sampler of her new CD "The Real Thing: Words and Sounds Vol. 3 is available on her myspace page! The first song to be released from the disc is "Hate On Me" which is officially that ish! Should be an anthem for everyone. Nowadays so many people release albums so quickly, for instance, Rihanna has released 3 CDs in like 2 years. There's is nothing wrong with that, but it is something wrong when the disc has only 3 songs worth putting on repeat making you wish you burned the CD. With Jill Scott, she'll make the audience wait a a few years and release timeless classic after timeless classic, worth every penny! Doesn't good new music get ya excited? Check her out also on the latest edition of Essence Magazine. Enjoy that ish!

"Nobody Do It Better" by Keith Murray featuring Tyrese, and Junior

You gotta love this song! Got that nice summertime vibe! Keith Murray is one of the most underrated artists in the industry, I hope this song helps to give him the props he deserves. This song has a cool vibe to it! Kids can listen to it, you don't feel like you have to turn it down when Grandma walks in, and it's not a dance instructional like every other song on the radio (refer to "Cupid Step or shuffle whatever the hell" ugh!)It would be nice to hear more from that kid, Junior. He's the same guy tearing that hook up on Young Berg's "Sexy Lady". Enjoy this ish!

"I'm psycho fa real" ok Diddy

Observations from Making The Band 4.6

This photo was jacked from the MTV Making The Band Website.

-It's crazy to know that the pool of talent on this show is so sick that they have to compete in other activities other than singing such as basketball, boxing, and other ish that doesn't matter.

-Can't remember his name right now but the "long hair don't care" dude shouldv'e been cut like before the season aired. On this past episode, Diddy even said that there was some pitch issues with his voice, and "he can't be making songs just for him", well kick him off.

-Where has Joe aka Mr. "I won't stop until I hear ya motha scream" been?

-Dan is one of those people who just look better chubby. Can't believe he got kicked off especially during the previous episode when he was one of the few hand picked by Diddy as "the most consistent" and was used to kick the last 2 guys off.

-Andrae should still be on the show!! He had one of the best if not the best voice in the house! Ok, he did remix "End Of The Road", but it sounded good! I love how when they cut to his interview when he got kicked off, he was ranting about how others in the house should've been kicked off before him, and did a little Laurie Ann when he said "and that was the 'gotcha gotcha'"lol

-Laurie Ann was trippin! If you had to rehears for 8 hours straight at that high level of intensity, you would have quit too. I mean, can you blame "playboy"?

I can't believe a cut took place after Diddy found out that they did not have ample time to learn the routine.

Didn't we all enjoy seeing Donnie dance by himself, did it make you smile?

Why did Julius have to get hurt?????? whyyyyyyyyy meeeeeee!!!!

Hit us up on the gmail if you know why Making The Band 4 still is not On Demand!grrrr

And that's the "gotcha gotcha"

21 Questions (+,-)

Aren't we all sad that The Fuggee reunion that was to take place at any minute has been halted by the one and only Lauryn Hill? She's still making music, this is her feature on the Joss Stone album that dropped a few months ago. Word has it that Joss tracked doesn Hill's mom to reach her.

not the offcial vid of course

FI-YER! This would so bring her back, are you catching these lyrics though?! too serious uuumpph, that is if you love music.

Of all the new shows this summer on BET, isn't Hell Date the best?

Isn't Baldwin Hills kinda on the childish tip?

Isn't Making the Band 4 that ish?! It's like the new crack! I start shaking @ 9:59 on Monday nights.

Is it just us or are you all excited about Snoop Dogg's family reality show coming to a TV near you?

And are you hoping it's not ignorant? I predict Run's House meets Being Bobby Brown.

Does anyone else work for myspace besides Tom one picture self?

Is he even a real person? Don't believe me, try sending him a message.

Why does myspace have more viruses than a hospital?

Does anyone know if Kim Burrell's "Have Faith In Me" exist on a CD?

Are you crossing your fingers that Remy Ma didn't shoot her "friend" over 2000 dollas? 2 Gs?

Will Kelly ever be able to top Beyonce? I dare not even mention Michelle.

How come nobody's up on Yo Momma ATL but us?

When is Erykah Badu gonna come back out?

She's no joke!

Can somebody tell the Hogan Knows Best cast that it's a wrap!

Speaking of comebacks, aren't we hoping Fox Boogie comes out like now?

Do peeps realize that the Jordans they buy now are the same ones they probably owned before? but for more money now?

Dang, it took The Simpsons almost 20 years before they made a movie?

Is T-Pain becoming the new Nate Dogg right before our eyes? or Rodger Troutman for that matter?

Have you spread the word about this fantastic blog?

Introducing my new boyfriend, Mastermind! Yes, I can see all ya'lls hateful eyes through the computer screeen as you read this. Ok, fa reals, I've never met this kid a day in my life. A good friend of mine turned me on to this *cough* rap "battle". Thanks BeverlyBoy, good looking out! This was made about 3 years ago at a talent show in Inglewooooddd! If you go to youtube, you can find more footage from this battle, and the other rappers responses to it makes it even funnier! My favorite part is when he says, "east coast, french toast". Is this guy serious?

When you're having a bad day, just think about Mastermind. A smile and some laughter is guaranteed! And for the ladies, if Mastermind is just too much for you to stand, just think about that smooth caramel host! ummph

Making The Band 4-only the best ish on tv right here, right here, right here?

sorry guys but I couldn't find any clips from last nights episode :( boooooo

Saw MTB4 last night and all I gotta say is “MTV can we get a muthaeffin encore?” I mean what is Time Warner sleeping on, this ish should’ve been On Demand like now. Excuse my frustrations but this show is only the best thing on tv right now. These dudes on here don’t have vocals but Vo-Kals!! The pool of talent on this show is insanely wonderful to say the least.
If ya’ll remember on the last MTB w/Danity Kane, they had to add an additional season just to find some more talent because vocally the girls were lacking. I think that may be because of the team of people or lack thereof that Diddy had. On MTB3 it was pretty much Diddy the old vocal coach, Doc (I think we know why he isn’t here this year and can’t we all tell the difference?), and Laurie Ann and few others who showed up every now and again. This year, in addition to Diddy and Laurie Ann, they have super producer/songwriter Bryan Michael Cox (look this dude up if you don’t know about him), Michael Bivens (from New Edition and he discovered Boyz II Men, discovered I say), the new vocal coach whose name escapes me but looks like an older R.Kelly, the A & R guy from Bad Boy, and last but not least Mr. “I-won’t-stop-until-I-hear-ya-mother-scream”, Joe. Of the team, I especially love the vocal coach, he’s that real ish right there! You can tell he’s an OG in that vocal game. He’ll check someone with one sentence and make him sound that much better because of the knowledge he holds.
Watching this season of MTB4 makes me want to see Boyz II Men! I heard they had a show at the House Of Blues out here in L.A. not too long ago. Watching people attempt to sing Wanya’s parts makes me have to give so much props to him. He is soooo underrated! Wanya, now that’s a bad boy right there jack. Not too many “vocalists” in the game right now can touch him. He could kill them all with just one run.
My favorite candidate to make it to the final group is Julius! I fell in love with him from the first episode. That voice is just heaven sent, no other way to describe it. You can’t learn that from anybody, vo-kals. And he’s somewhat of the underdog, and ya gotta root for the underdog. I also like Big Mike, but something tells me that he won’t make it after next week. After the 3 gov’t cheese samaches (I almost had to walk to my kitchen to see if I had stuff to make some b/c that ish looked bomb!) and failure to desire to lose weight, I think it may be a done dadda for him next week. I also like the stocky white guy, Dan. As they said in yesterday’s episode, “that boy never hit a bad note in his life”. Even though the talent in the house was enough to make a solid group, Diddy had to take it to the streets once more. At first, I was like why is he doing this, is it for TV (partly yes) but then I liked when he broke it down to the fellas when he said that while you’re sleeping there will always be someone else around trying to take your spot. I see Diddy had to go deeeeeep, like (Birmingham and Memphis) to find some boys who can sang and I was not mad at him for that. It just made last night’s episode that much better. Can’t remember his name but of the new guys, I like the one with the cornrows, kind of a comical character. He’s the one that R. Kelly, oppps I mean the vocal coach told to stop playing. Of the new guys he’ll last, I hope.
Last night’s episode was crazy and the craziest part about it was when the new guys battled the old guys in the house. This took me back to MTB2 w/ Da Band, when Diddy has Fred go against Chopper at the dinner table, classic. Most of the time when we think battle, we think aggressive raps but it was kinda funny seeing guys go at each other harmonizing and all. Lol Aaaaand when the whole team of “old guys” started singing against the others, I was like what is this, “Westside Story”? Singing “End Of The Road” and “Gone” all hard in anotha brothas face?! Lol I’m laughing now just thinking of it. MTV’s neighbor, BET is premiering their new show, Baldwin Hills, hopefully I’ll have some commentary on that tonight or in the morn. J

This was the best perfomance at the 2007 BET Awards. Beyonce's performance that is. Not too sure about Kelly. I think that song is too low for her and it just goes array when she tries to sing it live annndd dance. She should go back to the drawing board with that one. When Bee first came out, I thought she was Ciara in the robot get up. I was soooo glad that she brought out the dancers for this one so they could do the routine like they do in the video. Peep when Beyonce and all her dancers get into a tight bunch, stare at the camara and look like they're running. Slightly after that, they do this head movement, like they're mean mugging the audience, the white girl to Beyonce's right cracks me up!!! She's trying so hard to look serious, I damn near fell out my seat when I saw that! ha! Thought it was cute how Beyonce brought out Solange, who was snapping the hell outta her fingers when she sings, "now snap for the kids" and Michelle, who never looks quite on beat. They all looked cute together and seemed like they were enjoying being backup to Beyonce, like old DC times. All in all it's a great song, has great energy and a great performance was executed! Just not too sure if I like the way the live music sounds of that track though. And no, I'm not a hater, just like to express my own opinions :)Now let's "drop down low and sweep the flo wit it"

-offcially jacked from his website www.yungberg.net

Last night I attended his show at The Key Club in Hollywood, on the infamous Sunset Strip. Yung Berg's perfomance was just sexy, opps I mean good but some other things was going on that I didn't like. As it's name proves, The Key Club, is a club, not a clubhouse. Last night for the Yung Berg performance, you had to only be 16! I thought that was crazy. And we wonder why shows like "To Catch A Predator" exist. Where were these promoters when I was in 10th grade?? So although Yung Berg has only one single out, I swear a million and one people opened for him. I thought that was hilarious and began to question if Yung Berg was even there because it seemed like the "opening actssssss" would not stop coming out.

For Yung Berg's performance, I recorded about 13 seconds of his performance of "Sexy Lady" on my phone, but I can't upload it to my wack computer. Today and tomorrow I work practically all day so I won't get around to a friend's house to upload it until tomorrow night or Monday. :(

I was analyzing his performance, and I must say the dude has star quality, and a great stage presence. He doesn't seem like a rookie, he has a confident swagger, and has this mannish quality about him, with his little foine self and those sexy green not-to-light, not-to-dark eyes. ummph ummph ummph!! He performed about 5 or 6 songs, and from what I could digest, The Yung one may have a good album under his belt. He's from Chicago, and I love the fact that he said that because he is from Chicago he is inspired by Kanye West. Most don't want to give credit to those who came before them. He then played the opening to "Sexy Lady" and last night was the first time that I realized that he sampled Kanye's "Diamonds Are Forever" in the first 2 seconds of the track. I think the kid has star potential and I may be in line to purchase that CD of his. From my understanding, it's been a long time coming for him. I met someone earlier this year who was telling me about him before "Sexy Lady" started to blow on the West Coast airwaves. He's only 21, but about 5 years ago he was signed to DMX's(who he also gave love to during the show)Bloodline Records. 5 years is a long time, to "get on". That should be inspiring to us all that we must have patience and focus when going after our dreams and don't lose to distractions and discouragements. I know it's inspiring to me, as Berg would say, "cuz she's a go getta!"

check ourselves

For this first blog, we must take it back with a throwback, and since we are from L.A. it's a must that we select a westcoast classic. It's "Check Yo Self" by Ice Cube and Das EFX, think it came out circa 93. The video was the continuation to Cube's "Today Was A Good Day". Did Ice Cube pay a visit to the wishmaster or something?? That fool hasn't aged at all!

Why we like this video:
*It's an obvious classic!
*It makes sense unlike so many current ones (so many songs don't make sense so it's kinda hard to make the video make sense).
* It has an obvious storyline and a good one at that!
*Ice Cube was spitting knowledge, listen to those lyrics! It was so appropriate for him to sample Grandmaster Flash's "The Message". Everytime I hear/see the line "now ya name is just 'Twan", my stomach hurts from laughing!
