"I'm psycho fa real" ok Diddy

Observations from Making The Band 4.6

This photo was jacked from the MTV Making The Band Website.

-It's crazy to know that the pool of talent on this show is so sick that they have to compete in other activities other than singing such as basketball, boxing, and other ish that doesn't matter.

-Can't remember his name right now but the "long hair don't care" dude shouldv'e been cut like before the season aired. On this past episode, Diddy even said that there was some pitch issues with his voice, and "he can't be making songs just for him", well kick him off.

-Where has Joe aka Mr. "I won't stop until I hear ya motha scream" been?

-Dan is one of those people who just look better chubby. Can't believe he got kicked off especially during the previous episode when he was one of the few hand picked by Diddy as "the most consistent" and was used to kick the last 2 guys off.

-Andrae should still be on the show!! He had one of the best if not the best voice in the house! Ok, he did remix "End Of The Road", but it sounded good! I love how when they cut to his interview when he got kicked off, he was ranting about how others in the house should've been kicked off before him, and did a little Laurie Ann when he said "and that was the 'gotcha gotcha'"lol

-Laurie Ann was trippin! If you had to rehears for 8 hours straight at that high level of intensity, you would have quit too. I mean, can you blame "playboy"?

I can't believe a cut took place after Diddy found out that they did not have ample time to learn the routine.

Didn't we all enjoy seeing Donnie dance by himself, did it make you smile?

Why did Julius have to get hurt?????? whyyyyyyyyy meeeeeee!!!!

Hit us up on the gmail if you know why Making The Band 4 still is not On Demand!grrrr

And that's the "gotcha gotcha"

21 Questions (+,-)

Aren't we all sad that The Fuggee reunion that was to take place at any minute has been halted by the one and only Lauryn Hill? She's still making music, this is her feature on the Joss Stone album that dropped a few months ago. Word has it that Joss tracked doesn Hill's mom to reach her.

not the offcial vid of course

FI-YER! This would so bring her back, are you catching these lyrics though?! too serious uuumpph, that is if you love music.

Of all the new shows this summer on BET, isn't Hell Date the best?

Isn't Baldwin Hills kinda on the childish tip?

Isn't Making the Band 4 that ish?! It's like the new crack! I start shaking @ 9:59 on Monday nights.

Is it just us or are you all excited about Snoop Dogg's family reality show coming to a TV near you?

And are you hoping it's not ignorant? I predict Run's House meets Being Bobby Brown.

Does anyone else work for myspace besides Tom one picture self?

Is he even a real person? Don't believe me, try sending him a message.

Why does myspace have more viruses than a hospital?

Does anyone know if Kim Burrell's "Have Faith In Me" exist on a CD?

Are you crossing your fingers that Remy Ma didn't shoot her "friend" over 2000 dollas? 2 Gs?

Will Kelly ever be able to top Beyonce? I dare not even mention Michelle.

How come nobody's up on Yo Momma ATL but us?

When is Erykah Badu gonna come back out?

She's no joke!

Can somebody tell the Hogan Knows Best cast that it's a wrap!

Speaking of comebacks, aren't we hoping Fox Boogie comes out like now?

Do peeps realize that the Jordans they buy now are the same ones they probably owned before? but for more money now?

Dang, it took The Simpsons almost 20 years before they made a movie?

Is T-Pain becoming the new Nate Dogg right before our eyes? or Rodger Troutman for that matter?

Have you spread the word about this fantastic blog?

Introducing my new boyfriend, Mastermind! Yes, I can see all ya'lls hateful eyes through the computer screeen as you read this. Ok, fa reals, I've never met this kid a day in my life. A good friend of mine turned me on to this *cough* rap "battle". Thanks BeverlyBoy, good looking out! This was made about 3 years ago at a talent show in Inglewooooddd! If you go to youtube, you can find more footage from this battle, and the other rappers responses to it makes it even funnier! My favorite part is when he says, "east coast, french toast". Is this guy serious?

When you're having a bad day, just think about Mastermind. A smile and some laughter is guaranteed! And for the ladies, if Mastermind is just too much for you to stand, just think about that smooth caramel host! ummph

Making The Band 4-only the best ish on tv right here, right here, right here?

sorry guys but I couldn't find any clips from last nights episode :( boooooo

Saw MTB4 last night and all I gotta say is “MTV can we get a muthaeffin encore?” I mean what is Time Warner sleeping on, this ish should’ve been On Demand like now. Excuse my frustrations but this show is only the best thing on tv right now. These dudes on here don’t have vocals but Vo-Kals!! The pool of talent on this show is insanely wonderful to say the least.
If ya’ll remember on the last MTB w/Danity Kane, they had to add an additional season just to find some more talent because vocally the girls were lacking. I think that may be because of the team of people or lack thereof that Diddy had. On MTB3 it was pretty much Diddy the old vocal coach, Doc (I think we know why he isn’t here this year and can’t we all tell the difference?), and Laurie Ann and few others who showed up every now and again. This year, in addition to Diddy and Laurie Ann, they have super producer/songwriter Bryan Michael Cox (look this dude up if you don’t know about him), Michael Bivens (from New Edition and he discovered Boyz II Men, discovered I say), the new vocal coach whose name escapes me but looks like an older R.Kelly, the A & R guy from Bad Boy, and last but not least Mr. “I-won’t-stop-until-I-hear-ya-mother-scream”, Joe. Of the team, I especially love the vocal coach, he’s that real ish right there! You can tell he’s an OG in that vocal game. He’ll check someone with one sentence and make him sound that much better because of the knowledge he holds.
Watching this season of MTB4 makes me want to see Boyz II Men! I heard they had a show at the House Of Blues out here in L.A. not too long ago. Watching people attempt to sing Wanya’s parts makes me have to give so much props to him. He is soooo underrated! Wanya, now that’s a bad boy right there jack. Not too many “vocalists” in the game right now can touch him. He could kill them all with just one run.
My favorite candidate to make it to the final group is Julius! I fell in love with him from the first episode. That voice is just heaven sent, no other way to describe it. You can’t learn that from anybody, vo-kals. And he’s somewhat of the underdog, and ya gotta root for the underdog. I also like Big Mike, but something tells me that he won’t make it after next week. After the 3 gov’t cheese samaches (I almost had to walk to my kitchen to see if I had stuff to make some b/c that ish looked bomb!) and failure to desire to lose weight, I think it may be a done dadda for him next week. I also like the stocky white guy, Dan. As they said in yesterday’s episode, “that boy never hit a bad note in his life”. Even though the talent in the house was enough to make a solid group, Diddy had to take it to the streets once more. At first, I was like why is he doing this, is it for TV (partly yes) but then I liked when he broke it down to the fellas when he said that while you’re sleeping there will always be someone else around trying to take your spot. I see Diddy had to go deeeeeep, like (Birmingham and Memphis) to find some boys who can sang and I was not mad at him for that. It just made last night’s episode that much better. Can’t remember his name but of the new guys, I like the one with the cornrows, kind of a comical character. He’s the one that R. Kelly, oppps I mean the vocal coach told to stop playing. Of the new guys he’ll last, I hope.
Last night’s episode was crazy and the craziest part about it was when the new guys battled the old guys in the house. This took me back to MTB2 w/ Da Band, when Diddy has Fred go against Chopper at the dinner table, classic. Most of the time when we think battle, we think aggressive raps but it was kinda funny seeing guys go at each other harmonizing and all. Lol Aaaaand when the whole team of “old guys” started singing against the others, I was like what is this, “Westside Story”? Singing “End Of The Road” and “Gone” all hard in anotha brothas face?! Lol I’m laughing now just thinking of it. MTV’s neighbor, BET is premiering their new show, Baldwin Hills, hopefully I’ll have some commentary on that tonight or in the morn. J

This was the best perfomance at the 2007 BET Awards. Beyonce's performance that is. Not too sure about Kelly. I think that song is too low for her and it just goes array when she tries to sing it live annndd dance. She should go back to the drawing board with that one. When Bee first came out, I thought she was Ciara in the robot get up. I was soooo glad that she brought out the dancers for this one so they could do the routine like they do in the video. Peep when Beyonce and all her dancers get into a tight bunch, stare at the camara and look like they're running. Slightly after that, they do this head movement, like they're mean mugging the audience, the white girl to Beyonce's right cracks me up!!! She's trying so hard to look serious, I damn near fell out my seat when I saw that! ha! Thought it was cute how Beyonce brought out Solange, who was snapping the hell outta her fingers when she sings, "now snap for the kids" and Michelle, who never looks quite on beat. They all looked cute together and seemed like they were enjoying being backup to Beyonce, like old DC times. All in all it's a great song, has great energy and a great performance was executed! Just not too sure if I like the way the live music sounds of that track though. And no, I'm not a hater, just like to express my own opinions :)Now let's "drop down low and sweep the flo wit it"

-offcially jacked from his website www.yungberg.net

Last night I attended his show at The Key Club in Hollywood, on the infamous Sunset Strip. Yung Berg's perfomance was just sexy, opps I mean good but some other things was going on that I didn't like. As it's name proves, The Key Club, is a club, not a clubhouse. Last night for the Yung Berg performance, you had to only be 16! I thought that was crazy. And we wonder why shows like "To Catch A Predator" exist. Where were these promoters when I was in 10th grade?? So although Yung Berg has only one single out, I swear a million and one people opened for him. I thought that was hilarious and began to question if Yung Berg was even there because it seemed like the "opening actssssss" would not stop coming out.

For Yung Berg's performance, I recorded about 13 seconds of his performance of "Sexy Lady" on my phone, but I can't upload it to my wack computer. Today and tomorrow I work practically all day so I won't get around to a friend's house to upload it until tomorrow night or Monday. :(

I was analyzing his performance, and I must say the dude has star quality, and a great stage presence. He doesn't seem like a rookie, he has a confident swagger, and has this mannish quality about him, with his little foine self and those sexy green not-to-light, not-to-dark eyes. ummph ummph ummph!! He performed about 5 or 6 songs, and from what I could digest, The Yung one may have a good album under his belt. He's from Chicago, and I love the fact that he said that because he is from Chicago he is inspired by Kanye West. Most don't want to give credit to those who came before them. He then played the opening to "Sexy Lady" and last night was the first time that I realized that he sampled Kanye's "Diamonds Are Forever" in the first 2 seconds of the track. I think the kid has star potential and I may be in line to purchase that CD of his. From my understanding, it's been a long time coming for him. I met someone earlier this year who was telling me about him before "Sexy Lady" started to blow on the West Coast airwaves. He's only 21, but about 5 years ago he was signed to DMX's(who he also gave love to during the show)Bloodline Records. 5 years is a long time, to "get on". That should be inspiring to us all that we must have patience and focus when going after our dreams and don't lose to distractions and discouragements. I know it's inspiring to me, as Berg would say, "cuz she's a go getta!"

check ourselves

For this first blog, we must take it back with a throwback, and since we are from L.A. it's a must that we select a westcoast classic. It's "Check Yo Self" by Ice Cube and Das EFX, think it came out circa 93. The video was the continuation to Cube's "Today Was A Good Day". Did Ice Cube pay a visit to the wishmaster or something?? That fool hasn't aged at all!

Why we like this video:
*It's an obvious classic!
*It makes sense unlike so many current ones (so many songs don't make sense so it's kinda hard to make the video make sense).
* It has an obvious storyline and a good one at that!
*Ice Cube was spitting knowledge, listen to those lyrics! It was so appropriate for him to sample Grandmaster Flash's "The Message". Everytime I hear/see the line "now ya name is just 'Twan", my stomach hurts from laughing!
