I normally don't...

I normally don't do personal blogs, but I had to post this one!

I have alot of stressful (some good some bad) stuff going on. I got a new job (yay!), I got close peeps in my life completely flipping out on me for selfish reasons and completely forgetting and not appreciating all I've done to help them, people in "my extended network" messaging me under false pretenses, and a whole bunch of other ish.

So with all this said, my mind can sometimes be elsewhere, like today when I went to Target. So my homegirl and I walk back to my car and I see my keys in my door!! I locked the door, and forgot to take the freakin keys out! Hello car jackers out there, please take mine, plleeeaaassee!!! So I'm tripping out in disbelief. Then, the woman parked right next to me (who I hadn't realized was there until she spoke because I was in such shock) said she stayed in her car to watch mine! This made me feel so good, to know that good and honest people do exist in this world. Sometimes we wonder why bad things happen to good people, but today I can say that good things absolutely happen to good people. Karma does come back around. I thanked God for that woman and prayed for a blessing for her. I can only imagine who did the same for me. :) Right now, I am truly overjoyed.

The Wire

-photo offcially jacked from www.hbo.com/thewire

Ya girl has some great news for all of you Wireheads out there! The season 4 DVD will be released just in time for Christmas on December 4th! And ya'll know what that means. As a owner of the first three DVDs, I've noticed a trend. When they release the box set from the previous season, it normally means that the following season debut is right around the corna! And the trend hasn't changed. Season 5 premieres on HBO on January 6th!!!

Holla at cha girl!

Oprah & her Favorite Senator

It's cool Oprah is endorsing Obama and all but I have a question for her. Oprah, did you know that you could join the race and leave every last one of those mofos in the dust?

Throwback ish! 702 & Subway

Sorry it's been a minute since I "threw it back" here at thisishwritehere but better late than neva is what they tell me. The latest Throwback comes to you from 702 featuring Subway with "This Lil' Game We Play".

-See, I bet some of ya'll didn't even know that 702 started off with 4, not 3 members.
-Poor girl never lead a song after this.
-702 had success after this, but what happened to Subway? They were talented as well. I remember a few years ago on Usher's MTV Diary, one of the guys was his BFF/Assistant. Moving on.
-Michael Bivins discovered these folks, you know the guy from Making The Band 4 who also discovered Boyz II Men, who was also in New Edition. This guy doesn't get the props he deserves.
-Have you peeped the lyrics?Looking back it looks crazy to see how young they were, but I was young too singing right along. lol
-Do girl groups ever stay together?
-And I'm outro singing, "this little game that we play/just a little game that we plaaayyayyy" lol

Jay-Z House Of Blues Concert

video

So ya girl went to the Jay-Z concert last night at the House of Blues on the infamous Sunset Strip in Hollywood, CA. For starters, let me announce that I will never ever again go to that tiny venue to see a major artist such as Jay-Z. I think that it was over sold because I've been to sold out shows at the House of Blues and it has never been that crowded. I was waiting for a stampede at any minute. The place was packed!

My friend and I get inside and ironically end up standing by a couple who were in line a week before with me at ticketmaster. They were unable to get tickets then and instead got them online for twice the price! And on the other side of me was a customer from my job that I'd assisted not too long before. lol Doors opened at 8 and the show was scheduled to start at 9 but the Jiggaman did not come out til about 10:30. So in the meantime, people were getting their Jesus Juice on in a major way. This caused many of them to think they could squeeze their way in front of me. hahhahaha, I'm still laughing at those attempts. They had great music playing (I guess that was his opening act) but the drunken folks were becoming an annoyance and I was glad when the show finally opened.

So the curtain finally arises and my my my what do we have, a live band!! I was hoping he would because his Unplugged CD is one of my favorites and on The Jay-Z and Friends tour he used a live band that just made his performance that much more live! Once Jay-Z came out, I forgot all about the annoying people that were getting on my nerves a few seconds previously.

He opened with "Pray" from his new CD "American Gangster" that was released yesterday. He had a few special guests, but I was shocked that Memp Bleek didn't hype the whole show with him like normal. Jay-Z did the show for dolo. He did the best of the best off the new CD such as "No Hook", "Roc Boys" (he closed with this right after "Encore"), "Blue Magic" ( I thought Pharrell's sexy self would be there for his part umph), "Ignorant Sh*t", "Say Hello", and few oldies but goodies. I was glad that he did some of his unreleased fan favorites such as "Hovi Baby" (sounds great when you, "give the drummer some"), "You Don't Know", "Excuse Me" remix aka jay-z always smoking that la la la. Some of his released popular hits performed were "Encore" (he brought out Diddy and Jermaine Dupri for this, why? I don't know), "Show Me What You Got" (also good when you, "give the drummer some"), "Give It To Me", "Dirt Off Your Shuolders", "Big Pimpin" and others. He brought out The Roc Boys, Memph Bleek, Beenie, and Freeway for "What We Do", "Roc The Mic", and "Change The Game". All in all it was a terrific concert!!! Everybody left looking like they just left the gym with sweaty faces and shirts. We even spotted a few celebs getting their parlay on. Jay-Z sounds exactly the same, not all outta breath like a lot of rappers. Hopefully next time he'll come to The Staples Center!!
